My name is Ipsa Das. I am a 24-year-old Indian, born and raised in the eastern coastal state of Odisha. I currently reside in Mysore, working as a software professional. So, no! I didn't quit my job to join the tempting league of 'Digital Nomads'. YET.
A traveller with a desk job or a weekend-warrior could well label my current status. This space is all about my bumpy, worrisome, sometimes nerve-wracking but definitely kickass stories I gather from places here and there. They may involve rants, beliefs, convictions, all perceived through rose-tinted glasses. 🙂
If I had to choose two of my most favourite sayings that I live by, they would be:
- " The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind."
- "Your thoughts become things"
I am a firm believer of the "Law of attraction". Now you know!
But I desperately want to believe in this one too: "Food cannot cause you to put on weight, unless you think it can". Whoa! Oh dear brain, accept it already!
Because I as a baby, then a kid, a teen, now an adult, have always been slightly at the chubbier end. And that's where I realized.. God! The world is mean to people who are at 'such' ends. But things got easier with time because I also believe in the super power of "humor mingled with compassion". Thus, my substantial amount of effort in life goes into preparing that concoction.
Then there are times when I take off my rose-tinted glasses and I see things that make my blood boil and get my ears and cheeks red.
3 things I wholeheartedly love to HATE:
- Racist remarks of any kind, on anyone. That cruel belief of one's own race/ religion/ language/ colour/ food to be superior, under any circumstance is UNACCEPTABLE.
- Idiots who break queues. NOT COOL. Get in line, pea-brain! Also includes equally annoying habits under the category of "Discourtesy".
- Blowing one's own trumpet. One word- SICK!
Breathe in. Peace out.
OK. So I was saying...I can be outrageously impulsive sometimes. I crave for fish curry and rice when hungry. I take fitness seriously (You just have to trust me on this). I cry too easily. Love and hate come to me in extreme degrees (which is scary sometimes..duh!). I'm head over heels with anything that's unapologetically real. Simplicity blended with manners and humor turns me on. I'm a devotee of R. D. Burman, Kishore Kumar and A.R. Rahman when it comes to music. And oh! Bollywood has my heart. I see no margins while learning from any human I meet. And if it's not obvious yet, I fall in love easy. 🙂
Travelling has always proven to be my knight in shining armor. And it's only a few years old revelation. How could I let it go? It makes me happy, makes me realize how amazing this world is despite of it's muddles. It has made me a better person, definitely a stronger one too. I've learned to trust people, situations and God.
I may not have mastered the art of writing, but I promise you stories written with honesty. I promise you words knitted with love.
I hope you find your joy here.
See you around.
