This is me

Hey you,

My name is Ipsa Das. I am a 28-year-old Indian, born and raised in Bhubaneswar, in the eastern coastal state of Odisha.
Just recently, I quit my job to pursue travel and art full time.
Here, I doodle, I paint, I travel and I write. A self taught force of nature.
As a kid, I was always the one who’d help my friends finishing their art assignments (because subjects like Maths took the life out of me).  I’d religiously make greeting cards for everyone I knew. I knew I loved everything about silently putting my heart into an empty canvas. I loved it then, I love it still.
Fast forward. I did my engineering and worked as a Test Analyst at Infosys, Mysore. Honestly, as much as I loved the city, the workspace and everything about it, I pretty much sucked at my job. That’s when I started travelling, a weekend warrior style. Turns out, I was in love once again, the similar kind.
2018. I decided to take a sabbatical for 1 year. I carried my rucksack and travelling intensively. Soon after, I quit my job.
So hi!
Today, I am a full time freelancer, a certified digital illustrator. I’ve  collaborated with individuals and brands ever since  and it has been one helluva ride. I create logos, ads, banners, wedding invites, personalized artwork for clients. Further, I write blogs and create visual content for websites.
This space is all about my bumpy, sometimes nerve-wracking but definitely kick ass stories I gather from my experiences.
They may involve rants, beliefs, convictions, all perceived through rose-tinted glasses.
I love to plan things but I can be outrageously impulsive sometimes. I crave for fish curry and rice when hungry. I take fitness seriously (You just have to trust me on this). I cry too easily. Love and hate come to me in extreme degrees (which is scary sometimes..duh!). I’m head over heels with anything that’s unapologetically real. Simplicity blended with manners and humor turns me on. I’m a devotee of R. D. Burman, Kishore Kumar and A.R. Rahman when it comes to music. And oh! Bollywood has my heart. I see no margins while learning from any human I meet. And if it’s not obvious yet, I fall in love easy.
Painting + Travelling have always proven to be my knight in shining armor. And it’s only a few years old revelation that I could do both for a living. How could I let it go? It makes me happy, makes me realize how amazing this world is despite of it’s muddles. It has made me a better person, definitely a stronger one too. I’ve learned to trust people, situations and myself.
I may not have mastered the art of writing, but I promise you stories written with honesty. I promise you words knitted with love, colours painted with soul.
I hope you find your joy here.
See you around.

  1. Hi Ipsa,

    Hope you are doing well!

We, the team at Google Developer Student Clubs, Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram are happy to present our idea of an event that would bring a plethora of design elements in a unique combination – UXTopia.
It is a week-long event focused on providing a wholesome experience of design context filled with 5 days of speaker sessions and a 2-day design sprint, targeted to provide a professional working experience.

Date of event: 15th Nov 2021 to 21st Nov 2021

To give in the best experience to our participants, we are in search of accomplished resource-people who can share their knowledge as well as motivate and guide them in the correct way. Your profile is exemplary on the note of an Illustrator and it would be our privilege if you could take up a session in our event and interact with our students.
We use illustrations a great deal in our designs,  On a personal note, your journey from Computer Science and Engineering to being a self-made illustrator inspires me, and hence would be happy if you could talk about the usage of illustrations, as well as share your journey and experience.

I am attaching the prospectus of UXTopia along with this mail. It would be great to hear your thoughts on the whole idea of this event, along with your valuable inputs.

Iam indeed happy to add that we’ve received Figma Tier 1 sponsorship award for UXTopia, and we are looking forward to giving a great experience to our participants.

On an extended note, I am also attaching the link to The Journey {}, the GDSC MBCET digital diary, which is a combined effort of the whole team. Done entirely on Figma, this is a reflection of our activities during tenure 2020-21. Would love to hear your feedback on this too.Looking forward to hearing from you soon and eager to connect with you.Wishing you good health and success

    Warm Regards,
